Our Mission

Mighty Tree Nature School is a nature-based preschool that instills kids with a Christian worldview. We realize that the most effective learning for children does not happen indoors only but requires exposure to the natural world. In the Pacific Northwest there is so much natural beauty, which inspires each of us to explore and meditate on them. We believe that the beauty of nature around us is a gift from God which was given to us for our own enjoyment, and it is our responsibility to preserve and appreciate the natural environment. Likewise, our children are gifts from God, and it is our responsibility to care for and coach them in the right way. If we make an effort to care for both nature and our children and raise them in the right ways, they will turn out to be a blessing to the world for generations to come.

We define Nature School as an educational ethos and practice that centers the land and the child-at-play. Children and educators build a relationship with the land through regular and repeated access to the same outdoor space over an extended period. Educators support learning through a pedagogical framework that is rooted in place and play, directed and inspired by the child (emergent curriculum), and driven by a process of inquiry.

Worldview

We encourage the children to connect with the trees, plants, insects, animals, land, water, atmosphere, and other items found in the natural environment, and realize that God is the Creator who creates all beautiful things. We will also emphasize the need to respect and take care of the natural environment. Children will learn stories from Bible and adapt the lesson for their lives.
